Over three years after their infamous no-show at Off Broadway the recently reunited King Khan & BBQ Show finally made their appearance in Saint Louis on November 30th, 2012. It was a rowdy spectacle of punk doo wop and people who didn't maybe realize they were being made fun of by the band when they were stage diving.

Over three years after their infamous no-show at Off Broadway, the recently reunited King Khan & BBQ Show made their long overdue appearance in Saint Louis on November 30th, 2012. It was a rowdy spectacle of punk doo wop and people who maybe didn’t realize they were being made fun of by the duo when they were stage diving.

Over three years after their infamous no-show at Off Broadway the recently reunited King Khan & BBQ Show finally made their appearance in Saint Louis on November 30th, 2012. It was a rowdy spectacle of punk doo wop and people who didn't maybe realize they were being made fun of by the band when they were stage diving.

The photos will have to tell most of the story for this one as the aggressive energy of the crowd didn’t give me much room to take in the music for most of the set. King Khan & Mark Sultan made no mention of the missed show and rarely said anything between songs that wasn’t asking the crowd to stop one behavior or another. Someone was missing the joke and ultimately, it probably was the crowd. When King Khan invited the crowd to come up and stage dive, with a healthy amount of ire and sarcasm in his voice, and a handful of folks gleefully hopped up and promptly belly-flopped back into the crowd, he wasn’t the only one rolling his eyes.

However, King Khan & BBQ Show still played one of the best sets I’ve seen in 2012, even if I can only remember parts of it.
